Let me first start by saying I am the following: deployed; married; buying a home; prepping to have our first child; and, Lord willing, PCS’ing a few weeks after arriving home from deployment. My wife and I are stationed at Travis AFB and received an assignment to Scott AFB back in August. With our first child on the way our first PCS, we decided to go buying the house route by using our VA loan. I reached out to SEVERAL lenders, talked to several reps (most were great), and had no idea what buying a house entailed. Then our realtor recommended Steve since she’s worked with him in the past: what a blessing. Carrollton Bank beat every interest rate by an average of .60%. I work 6 days a week on deployment and I am quite sure Steve works more than I do. He’s extremely quick with his responses that are extremely genuine, knowledgeable, and beyond helpful. He’s scheduled Zoom calls to fit my time and has never made me feel dumb about not knowing what I was doing. It’s difficult to find someone who is familiar with VA loans and can walk you through the process. It’s just as difficult for you first home, and even more difficult while you’re in another country and your wife is in a complete different time zone. Steve has helped this process move so smoothly and I thank the Lord for putting him in our family’s lives. I bank with Navy Fed, but if Carrollton’s employees match with Steve (which, I’m sure he’d humbly say they do), I wouldn’t pass them by without opening a bank account.
